Amsterdam Disco Customs

When you use the bathroom facilities in any Club in Amsterdam You will notice it is customary to tip the attendant at least a guilder. You may think it strange to pay to go to the bathroom but it is part of the Dutch culture. If you don't the attendant will stop you and make you pay.
It is also customary to tip the Doorman on the way out. (Only if you are leaving and not coming back that night). Tourist or not if you do not tip the attendant do not expect to get back in the next time you visit, even a year later. THEY REMEMBER YOU if you don't tip them! It is after all a private club, and you must be let in.
You do not have to tip the bartender (Unless your working him).
You can smoke Grass or Hash in most discos, but if you are in a small place always ask first.
There are many places you can not smoke Grass such as any restaurants or food cafe's and some coffee shops so always ask first.
